Surrender-The Path of Yoga

Betty Surrender Rumi Meme

So much has changed since I started this blog which began as a private journal of my 200 hour yoga training in the Spring of 2012.  While I had been practicing yoga for over 10 years, those 3 months were one of the most intense of my entire life.  During that time, I was challenged to face and integrate parts of myself in a way that I had never done before.

YOGA means UNION~ mind, body, spirit ~and that is exactly what my journey has been about over the past two and a half years since I completed my yoga training.

The path of yoga is not an easy one.  Although I ‘ve been teaching 12 to 19 classes per week for the past few years, there have been times that I have abandoned my own asana practice for weeks and have felt the pain of being disconnected from my self and my body.  And while, I have been busy at work on book revisions and navigating the realm of self publishing, I have been away from my blog for too long, but I am back and ready for a FRESH START.

so TODAY, as I embark on this new part of my journey of bringing yoga to the lives of young people and their families through my children’s book, I got on my yoga mat AND logged into my blog, with a renewed commitment  or better yet DEVOTION to reconnect with myself and share that with all of you who know what it’s like to be on this path of yoga and of life.

My body was stiff and I could feel it right away, every…single…place…in…my…body where I was holding the tension, the fear, the overwhelm, the anger and

I allowed myself to simply SURRENDER.

My mind was full of thoughts that I might not know what to write, until my fingers hit the keyboard and the words appeared on the screen one…after…another…and

I allowed myself to simply SURRENDER.

My soul was aching to be set free and here SHE is…here I AM

allowing myself to simply SURRENDER.

I’m so excited to reconnect to myself and my yoga practice by taking on the November Fall Into Alignment Yoga Challenge with my yoga sisters Tess Ball and Dori Daniel, who I did my yoga teacher certification training with at Three Sisters Yoga. I look forward to sharing more about this new journey over the course of the next month, it is all unfolding so beautifully…there are many stories to tell.
