Yoga Teacher Training Completion

Yoga Sisters

My Yoga Sisters

We did it!  After two long months of intensive training four days a week, we completed the Three Sisters Yoga Summer 2012 Training.

This morning I had topresent an hour long yoga class along with three other women on my team.  Our theme was Energy Balance and I had to teach the first 15 minutes of the opening and warm up.

I started my Dharma Talk with a poem that I found which captured the essence of our theme:

“Just for Now, without asking how, let yourself sink into stillness. Lay down the weight you so patiently bear upon your shoulders. Feel the earth receive you, and the infinite expanse of the sky grow even wider as your awareness reaches up to meet it. Allow a wave of breath to enliven your experience. Breathe out whatever blocks you from the truth. Just for now, be boundless, free, with awakened energy tingling in your hands and feet. Drink in the possibility of being who and what you really are – so fully alive that the world looks different, newly born and vibrant, just for now. “~Danna Faulds

I led the class through a meditation and a fluid warm up to encourage letting go and finding that stillness within. Although I was nervous at first, the more I placed my attention on my students (my teacher Jen and yogi sisters), the more I eased into my teaching and the more natural it felt.

I came to this training to find my voice as a yoga teacher and I feel that  I accomplished that.  Aside from completing my 200 hour training, I received so much more than I could have ever hoped from this intense and transformative experience.  I feel more comfortable in my skin and the way I carry myself is more open and receptive.

I feel truly blessed to have shared this life-changing with such an extraordinary group of women.  I know that each one of us have blossomed in our own way and are ready to bring our own unique gift to the world by following our dharma path.
